The Boy Jet Fighter is a series of chapter books I was encouraged to write by renowned illustrator Ann James.She indicated that there were no aviation adventure books for 8 to 12 year olds.

I have completed 3 books and the fourth, Operation Viper, is a work in progress. This book, Operation Gunboat is the first to be published, I have written it (and those to follow) primarily for 8-12 year olds, but in fact for any age.The Air Combat Manoeuvres (ACM) and commentary and control in the books are what I actually practised in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe and South Africa flying the Hunter FGA 9 and Mirage 3CZ in the nineteen seventies.
